The Word on the Street Raffle Winner!

My husband and I attended The Word on the Street Festival Sunday September 24th and it was fun! I was really excited because I almost didn't get the opportunity to attend as an exhibitor. When I registered I was put on the waiting list because it was full, so I thought I would have to wait until next year. I was in my bedroom folding laundry when my cell phone rang. It was a woman from The Word on the Street letting me know that there was a cancellation and an exhibitor spot has opened up. I was so excited! I called my husband and texted my sister to let her know. I prepared myself for the festival. I decided to do a free raffle so I had to put some things together. I ordered a few things with my brand all over it. I ordered a white t-shirt and a tote bag to give away, along with a signed copy of my novel, Masquerade of Lies, and a $25 Tim Horton's gift card. I ordered copies of my novel, but it wasn't delivered on time. Luckily I had enough copies of my children's books, so it all worked out. We gave away a lot of coffee mugs with my brand all over it. We sold quite a few children's books. I met a lot of teachers interested in buying my books. Over forty people signed up for my free raffle. My sister showed up and hung out with us. It was a hot and humid day, so we brought a cooler with bottles of water. We also brought a cooler bag with sandwiches and snacks. I ended up getting a couple of books while I was there. At home, I randomly picked a winner and mailed them their prize. The whole experience was fun. I can't wait to do it again next year!
